Well written with good characters. Other than a few too stupid to live moments for the heroine, the biggest issue was, who cared about a 70-year-old death? The "passion" that generated all the events/murders in the story (well, besides the romance which was good if over the top) seemed manufactured for the story.Product details

Fair Hope is a wonderful mix of Romance, mystery and suspense. I read the book in 2 days as it was hard to put down. It hooks you from the first chapter and keeps you wanting more always to the last chapter. I also loved her other novel Salting Roses which is also a great mix of romance and mystery. I hope Susan Marinello writes more books in the future. I love her writing style!!
I enjoyed this book so much. The story was engaging, and the writer's voice was charming. I'm off to discover more of Susan Lorelle Marinello's work.

Lots of history intrigue drama and suspense wrapped up into one great story. Thoroughly recommended I couldn't put it down.
When I started this book, I expected it to be good. It was excellent. This is no bland story. The mystery of a city girl come home to a home that never was hers to try to find the truth of her devastated family quickly erupts into a hotbed of intrigue and danger in an angry Texas small town. But she finds much more in a back home fellow who isn't what he seems. It's the wonderful, yet highly believable dialogue that contributes the most to truly outstanding characters. I couldn't stop reading-and that's rare.
This story was very interesting. The author created a very twisted family relationship filled with history that almost can be confusing at times, but it keeps you questioning. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars was because of the ending, which was a bit dull compared to the rest of the book, and the fast that the main relationship in the story, and one closely related, never really blossomed as I would have hoped. Other than that, a good book.
